AGENDA NOTES
- The meeting opened at 12:05 as Aimee McNeil welcomed Chamber Members. Thanks to Lions Lodge for hosting the meeting.
- Business Reviews:
Smithfield Lions Club (Deon Hunsaker)- They presented $10,000 to a Weber State program that provides camps for kids with diabetes. They are doing a luncheon for seniors this Saturday. They are helping Scouts with an Eagle Scout project to clean and test eyeglasses for humanitarian trips. April 30th is Smithfield’s Day of Service – they will be testing eyeglasses and working with Sleep In Heavenly Peace to make beds for children. Be aware that Blue Sox baseball starts in April and their major fundraiser is running the concession stand. Come get a Lion Pup and a double cheeseburger (with Schreiber cheese). They are always looking for new members so please join if you can.
Birch Creek Elementary (Trudy Wilson) – They just finished Parent/Teacher conferences. May 3rd they will have a Leadership and Learning Day so showcase student leadership.
Summit Elementary (Aimee McNeil) – Not alot going on right now. Had their Valentine Dance for families and had a McTeacher Night to raise money for the PTA.
Preston Watts Collision and Glass (Josh Watts) – Congratulations to all parents whose kids are not crashing your cars. They are only a few weeks out on body work – if you have an accident, give them a call. Be safe!
Easy Breezy Pros (Matt Veil) – Give them a call for vent cleaning to help with allergies in general and whatever your needs are. They are approaching the busy season so give them a call soon to get on their schedule.
McDonalds (Bill Petersen, Toni Wood) – Under construction – doing a remodel for their lobby. Still come to see them. They are also transitioning to a new way to do breakfast so keep looking for that.
Zions Bank (Teresa Gwilliam) – Home equity credit lines have a good rate right now. They also offer business credit cards with a $500 cash back bonus.
Cache Valley Bank (Zane Johnson) – They recently upped interest rates on Money Market accounts to 5%. They are asking for local help to help Hispanic community members in financial literacy. The class will be at their Logan branch.
Whole Body Health Care (Zach Manwaring, Tyler Noell)- People are getting active so they are staying busy. Happy to be making people happy.
Farmers Insurance (Wayne Elwood) – Insurance rates are going up and Farmers is working to do rate increases in a timely fashion so that their rates are coming down. Review your policies and give them a call for a quote!
Schreiber Foods (Scott Nelson) – Eat cheese! Buy yogurt! Always hiring so send anyone your way (age 18 and up).
USU Credit Union (Trevor Larson) – Two promotions running – Balance Transfer promo with 0% interest for the first six months and Visa Rewards Card will get a $150 credit statement. The balance transfer promo is good through the end of the month
Family Place (Zoe Erickson) – Play with the Family Place is March 21st – Dr. Seuss themed. April is Family Strengthening Month – they have a big gala fundraiser and are working to raise awareness for safe families.
Host Huski (Andrew Davis) – Can help with all aspects of your website. For $3 a month you can get an email with your domain name. They work to increase website performance through server traffic without passing increased costs on to their customers.
Kim and Jim Tippetts – They are leaving the country in May but are ready to help with Night of Giving. Everyone is invited to their missionary farewell on April 28th at 9 am at the Northwest Chapel in Hyde Park (480 N 100 W).
- Membership dues – We have window clings. Also if you need to give us an updated email let us know.
- The March Newsletter is out. April’s newsletter will be to advertise the Golf Tournament and Pancake Breakfast. An ad is $100 and includes the ad on the flier and on social media.
- Easter Egg Hunt is March 30th. Bring a table, prizes and any signage you want out. We will be setting up at 8 am.
- The Tri-School Golf Tournament is May 8th. Let us know if you want a golf team or a hole sponsorship ASAP.
- Pancake Breakfast – Saturday, May 11th. We need all the help we can get. It will be 8-9:30 and will not conflict with the race this year. Proceeds from this go towards our scholarship program.
- Chamber Scholarship applications open on April 1st. Check our website for applications.
