  • Business Growth & Hiring: Schreiber Foods is adding production lines and hiring 30 people per month through the fall. Learning Turtle Preschool has hired new teachers.
  • Real Estate & Development: Jim and Kim Tippetts are opening the Blue Horizon Grill at the rebranded Bear Lake Adventure Park and have property listings in the Bear Lake area.
  • City Revitalization: Smithfield City council members are training for Utah Main Street to revitalize main street areas and may seek community support for revitalization grants.
  • City Infrastructure: The city is focusing on safe walking routes for elementary students following new school boundary changes and requests input on sidewalk needs.

Action Items

  • Easter Egg Hunt: Members providing prizes must bring tables, signage, and promotional information. Setup is April 4th at 8:00 AM.
  • Family Place Tournament: Interested hole sponsors for the July tournament should contact Scott Nelson (Schreiber Foods).
  • City Infrastructure: Businesses and residents are asked to notify the city of needed sidewalk locations.
  • America 250: Check the website for details on the April 25th Day of Service.
  • Smithfield Recreation: Businesses can still sign up for parade space and booth space for Health Days.
  • Tri School Golf Tournament: Members interested in hole sponsorship or entering a team for the May 6th event should notify the Chamber.
  • Scholarship Applications: Applications for the Chamber Scholarship are open through April 30th.
  • Pancake Breakfast Volunteers: 10-12 people are needed for setup, cooking, and cleanup on May 9th.
