- The meeting opened at 12:05 as President Richard Varela welcomed Chamber Members. Thanks to Sierra Restoration for hosting and providing lunch.
- Business Reviews:
Sky View High School (Darren Perkes) – Really excited to be here. Thank you for serving the school through boosters, CEF, and other donations. He is happy to be back at Sky View and looking forward to working with the Chamber.
Gibbons Chiropractic (Jeremy Gibbons) – Been in the community for 20 years. Doing a lot of summer recovery right now. They do chiropractic, acupuncture and other services.
Farmers Insurance (Diana Parker) – They have a new specialist in business insurance. Auto rates are going down so let them know if you would like a quote.
Summit Elementary (Amy Bassett) – New principal this year. School is in full force and loves doing business in Smithfield.
Birch Creek Elementary (Trudy Wilson) – Lots of boundary changes but they are still growing!
Family Place (Alyssa Warner) – 9/11 National Day of Service – they are having 40 projects available to work on so they are happy to have any help available. On 9/12 there is a community celebration at Willow Park.
Alpine Cleaning and Restoration (Boedy Hunsaker) – Happy to help people when they need help with disaster services. Also hiring for entry level positions.
Smithfield City (Chris Olsen) – Lots of exciting things in the city. They are looking for input on what businesses need. Smithfield is looking to have Main Street District from 200-200S from 100W-100E to revitalize and highlight historic areas. Smithfield would like business spotlights on Thursdays so look for that to start soon. They are looking to develop and highlight and support businesses as much as they can.
Second Act Literacy Foundation (Steve Cook) – Work with immigrants and refugees to help them learn English and get their GED’s.
Sandstone Psychology (Dan Fast) – They offer mental health services that they can customize to your employees and businesses.
Serv Pro of Logan (Andrew Wallace) – Taking over from Ryan. Happy to help with cleanup and disaster services.
Lee’s Marketplace (Pete Krusi) – lots of promotions coming up this month. Case lot runs September 21st – October 6th.
Backbone Planning (Jace Cox) – They offer a chamber sponsored 401K for businesses. This is a good time to review retirement options for your business.
Preston Watts Collision and Glass (Josh Watts) – Grateful for the community support. They pride themselves on making your experience with them as easy and seamless as possible. They have competitive rates and work with any insurance companies. They also do windshields.
Zions Bank (Tori Wanner) – Jill Godfrey has retired and thanks to Lees for catering a retirement event for her. Their business credit card promotion is spent – $5000 on the card and get a $1000 cash bank.
Antics Comedy Improv (Trevor Larsen) – Moving locations from Coconut Cove to the alley on Center Street. They start shows this weekend and have shows most Fridays and every other Saturday (more adult oriented).
Andrew is also starting The Connection Hub – a community business working to pull events and business information to one spot. It will be searchable and free for businesses to list their information. Let him know if you are interested.
USU Credit Union (Sam Barfuss) – Rates are stagnating a bit but now is a time to get a loan because rates are going back up. They can also lower existing rates on loans as rates drop. They are currently offering a 3.33% rate on HELOC.
McDonald’s (Toni Wood, Bill Petersen) – New parking lot! Grateful for school being back in session. Apple pies and pumpkin pies are coming for the fall as well as some Red Bull drink options. They love doing business with Smithfield. They feel local even though they are a global company.
MLB Plumbing and Repair (Lesly Juber) – new plumbing business in the valley. Happy to get involved.
Utah Lions Club (Deon Hunsaker) – Blood Drive on October 12th at the Smithfield Lions Lodge. Also working on recycling plastic in Smithfield and Richmond – look for locations at the city buildings.
Smithfield Recreation (Richard Varela) – Entering a busy time. Summer camps went well. All fall sports and activities are beginning – volleyball, basketball, dance, tumbling, martial arts, etc. New children’s choir is beginning as well.
Evolution Design (Nicole Hyer) – Hiring for someone in their shop and a manager to work with clients and manage projects. Getting ready for the Parade of Homes – look for their giveaways.
Cache Refugee and Immigrant Connection (Karina Brown, Barb Zrcmar) – Their annual Harvest Dinner is September 24th at Riverwoods. Looking for any sponsors if you are interested.
Discovery Guides (Jack Johnson) – working with a company out of Nauvoo to incorporate their functionality locally. They also have a local community events page so everyone is encouraged to get involved.
Smithfield Lions (Amy Adamson, Terry Wierman) – they can do eye screenings for preschools and/or day cares. They finished their Blue Sox fundraising. They are collaborating with local and national organizations. They are doing service projects on 9/11 at the Lions Lodge. They are planning a Veterans event as well – more information to come.
Host Huski (Andrew Davis) – They are taking over the website for the Chamber and excited to get the website more functional and easier members.
Sierra Restoration (Stacy Hess) – 24/7 emergency services offered and they take pride in offering value during difficult times.
Cache Valley Bank (Katelyn Mason) – They offer small business banking services. Customer appreciation is next Wednesday, September 9th. Come by for dinner.
AllTech (Jennifer Anderson) – IT Services provider for small and medium sized businesses. Happy to be a supporter of America 250 events locally. If you have a business without an inhouse IT provider, let her know.
- Mission Statement – Please let us know any key words that you want us to include as a mission statement. Please email Rhonda at [email protected].
- Trick or Treat Street – Friday, October 16th at the Rec Center. Time is from 4:30-8 pm. Free event to teach kids to trick or treat safely. They have businesses who “man” the doors – they are building 10 new doors and are making changes to make it quicker for families to get through. If you want to be involved let Richard know. They plan for 1200ish kids. The fee is $85 to build the door and it is your door every year.
- Night of Giving – Theme – Share the Joy. This is our 20th year. Tickets are $50. See Nicole for purchasing a table and/or sponsorships. Also let us know if you have any donations for the raffle or auction.

Dear Friends:
The Greater Smithfield Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our 20th Annual Night of Giving, which will be held December 5, 2026. Night of Giving is a dinner, raffle, and live auction; all proceeds go toward helping families in crisis during the holiday season.
Our theme this year is Share the Joy. We are thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of making a difference in our community and invite you to celebrate with us!
We would like to invite you to participate in this event in any of the following ways:
- Donate a gift package, decorated Christmas tree, toy package, or anything that would help to bring in money for the auction or raffle.
- Make a monetary donation; we accept cash, checks, credit cards or Venmo at @Smithfield-Chamber.
- Participate in the evening by purchasing tickets (you can buy individual tickets or reserve a table) and buying from the auction, raffle, or our Golden Ticket candy bar game.
- Purchase a sponsorship, which includes event tickets, Golden Ticket candy bars, raffle tickets, and special recognition during the evening.
We appreciate your help in bringing the joys of Christmas to families throughout our community. As always, our goal is to make sure that no child goes without Christmas. Our event has grown and we have sold out the last few years. If you are unable to attend the event in person, please consider a monetary donation; they go directly to help local families. If you have any questions about donations or purchasing tickets to this event, please contact one of the coordinators listed below.
