Discussion Points
- Cache County School District: Two new middle schools (6th, 7th, and 8th grades) opening in 2026-27 school year. New elementary school under construction in Hyde Park. DLI programs consolidating: French and Spanish at Spring Creek Elementary; Portuguese and Chinese at Cedar Ridge Elementary. Boundaries changes are pending a board vote tonight.
- Smithfield Lions Club: Meet the Candidate Night scheduled for tonight at 6:30 PM at the Lions Lodge for council and mayoral candidates. Lions International Peace Poster Contest details provided via email.
- Smithfield City: Regulations being developed for motorized scooters. The vacant city council seat (2-year term) will be filled by council appointment in October, not by election. Participating in the Dignity Index.
- Smithfield Recreation: Trick or Treat Street has one door available for participants. Turkey Trot expects 500 racers.
- Zions Bank: Managing SBA loans and noting that internal underwriting may prevent impacts from a government shutdown.
